ELA: We had a great time on Friday playing literacy based games as a reward for reading over 100 books in our classroom since Sept.!! We made a new goal of 200 this time! The students brought lots of variety and were very engaged in the activities.
We are almost done this next round of Literacy activities. Most students are making improvements in their work over last time. We have no official spelling words this week but will resume again next week. They will be bringing home their literacy folders this week when completed. Please take the time to have your child explain what they did and why. Sign the tracking sheet and return the whole folder and sheet to Mrs. Schnarr. Thanks in advance.

Math: Grade 4's are continuing to learn different mental math strategies to add 3 digit numbers and the Grade 3's are finishing up their provincial assessments and doing review games and activities.
Science: Students had an excellent start to making periscopes! This week they will test their periscope according to their pre-determined criteria and come up with solutions to make it work even better.
Social Studies: Students had lots of great questions as we started looking at the different geographical regions of Canada. This week we will learn note-taking strategies as we explore the similarities and differences in the various regions.
This Wednesday we will be having a costume/pumpkin party! Please send your child's friendly costume (no ghosts, witches, goblins, blood, etc.) to school and students will dress up in the afternoon.

*I sent a reminder to parents that had offered to bring snack for Halloween.  If you did not receive that email, you do not need to provide any snack. Thank you!
