A few reminders for this week:
*Students need to be at the Caboto Centre at 6:00 for the Christmas Concert.
*Grade 5 students need to wear black shirt and pants, and bring a bag lunch OR money for Wednesday.
*If you are able to bring a snack for our party on Friday, please email Mrs. Gonske.  Thank you!

We had a wonderful trip to the Canadian Lutheran World Relief Warehouse last Thursday!  Students worked hard to sort sweaters for Syria and check the Learning and Living Kits (the same kind we donated) to make sure they had the appropriate materials in them.
Sorting sweaters for Syria.

Checking the Living and Learning Kits.

Hearing about the process of shipping sweaters to Syria.

Watching how the baler pushes the sweaters down to be as compact as possible.
Math:  The grade 4's have been working on Christmas activities to review various skills, including graphing, fractions and algebra.  The grade 5's are working on estimating quotients, and will start dividing 3-digit numbers this week (to be continued after the break).

Science:  Students conducted an experiment to test the solubility of materials.  They have discovered how materials can have reversible changes (blowing up a balloon) and irreversible changes (pop the poor balloon).  Students will begin looking at physical vs. chemical changes this week.
Testing to see if a substance is soluble.
