Students are wrapping up their social studies unit by discussing some events from their timeline more in depth, including the Acadian deportation and the Battle of the Plains of Abraham.
The grade 5's are just starting their fraction unit and are learning about equivalent fractions. The grade 4's have been working on finding a fraction of a set. For example, 1/4 of 12 is 3.
Here are some highlights from our Artist in the School workshops last week.
The students had a lot of fun learning different rhythms and drumming with Mr. Coffie!
Last week we also had the privilege of hosting a guest speaker from Wise Kid-Netic Energy to do a simple machines workshop. The students each created a catapult with popsicle sticks.
Students have just completed designing and constructing their own catapult.
The creative designs are very impressive - pictures to come soon!
The batik fabric is washed - the designs look beautiful!
Thanks again to Mrs. Windsor for all her hard work in organizing this project.
