We wrapped up our Canada unit with a game to review some of the major players in our government system.  Students were given a political position on their back, and had to ask their friends questions to figure out who they were.

Students also had the chance to appreciate a Canadian Aboriginal artist, Peter Hawk Hill, and create artwork that reflected his style.  Students worked on shading and blending colours as they drew and coloured these beautiful birds!

The grade 4's finished working on graphs, which ended up being a very short unit since we've been making graphs all year!  They are learning about different types of shapes, and identifying faces, edges, and vertices on those shapes.

The grade 5's are learning about transformations, including translations, reflections, and rotations.  They have also been working towards mastering their individual math goals.  Each student made 2 goals related to skills we've learned in math this year.  They chose skills that they thought they needed more practice on in order to master.

In science we are learning about the classification of living things, and have identified key characteristics of each of the kingdoms of living things.  We have researched characteristics and examples of vertebrates and invertebrates, and have organized this information on tables in Microsoft Word.  Students are beginning their last major project on arthropod adaptations.  They are doing an excellent job of finding relevant sources online and finding key information that they will use to create their arthropod!
