Students have enjoyed developing skills this week in impromptu speaking and thinking on their feet around various topics. They have participated in playing games that promote effective listening skills. We are branching into writing short paragraphs on different subjects, memorizing them and presenting them to a friend.

Most students showed a significant improvement in knowing spelling rules for pluralization. We will continue to practise these next week on our regular spelling list. Parents- thanks for your support of these. It was very helpful!

Students have just completed their scientific inquiry project on light.  For most students, this was the first time they worked on a whole scientific inquiry project with partners (not a class led experiment)!  While working on how to explain the parts of the scientific method, students are also developing skills in time management and with support are learning to break large assignments into smaller tasks.

Students have been working on various computer skills over the last few weeks including:
- saving documents on a USB
- making a table
- changing the font type and size
- printing
- typing in key words to search in Google (including "kids" so most of the suggestions are age appropriate)
- keeping track of resources and listing them on a project/assignment

Some grade 5's with more experience have been excellent helpers to the grade 4's, and are learning some additional formatting skills and short cuts.
