This week students began a unit to explore various reading comprehension strategies, through the topic of habitats and animal communities.  They are focusing on ways to visualize what they are reading such as numbers, comparisons, personal experiences and descriptive word choices.  Today we enjoyed painting an arctic habitat and wildlife.  We had a guest artist/teacher Ms. Wolff share watercolour techniques with us.  

The grade 4's are continuing to work on telling time.

Estimating and measuring
The grade 5's are completing their measurement unit by working on capacity, volume, and weight.

We completed Aboriginal studies unit this week, and started a unit in science on nature.  Over the next several weeks (and after spring break), we will be looking at habitats, rocks and minerals, and weather.
