Science Spectacular!

We are growing bean plants in science. We started by sprouting a dried kidney bean in wet paper towel placed in a plastic bag.

Next, we transplanted them onto soil where they rooted.

When I left school on Friday, I gave the plants plenty of water. We arrived Monday to some pretty tall plants!

We made some predictions about what we would find on Tuesday. We also wondered why some were taller than others. When we came in today, are plants were even taller! Some have buds. Will they become more leaves? Or will they be flowers with fruit?

We learned that the hard “shell” from the kidney bean is called a seed coat and falls off, sometimes in the soil and sometimes getting stuck on the leaves.
