Language Arts- We have begun our first rotation of Literacy Activities. They are going well and the students are enjoying the variety. These are a combination of reading, writing, research, spelling and word activities around the theme of Canada. (We are reviewing the use of capitals and periods that some forgot over the summer.)

Homework Reading- Thank you parents for getting into the habit of signing the Reading Record duotangs along with the agendas. This helps monitor the homework reading your son/daughter is doing. We are also counting the books we read at school during our Independent Reading time each morning. We will be celebtrating when the class total is 100!! We are about half way there!

Math: The grade 4's are starting patterning with simple equations and the grade 3's are working with number patterns on a 100 chart.

Science: Students wrote a game show quiz today based on what we have learned about light so far. We will be exploring reflection this week.

Social Studies: Students have almost finished the rough copies of their brochures/songs and we hope to have their final projects finished and on display at the end of this week or the beginning of next week. If your child brings it home to finish please remind them to look at their rubric to make sure they have fulfilled the criteria.
