ELA: Reading a text and learning about making connections to ourselves, other texts and the world around us. Our Literacy Centres rotation is almost done and each student will be bringing home their folder. Look over the contents with your child and enjoy a conversation about what they did and learned. Please sign the tracking sheet and return the whole folder to Mrs. Schnarr. Thanks.

Spelling: As was mentioned at our home visits, we are using primarily thematic words for spelling lessons, as they tend to have more relevance and meaning to the student. Our first list is coming home today and we will be having a spelling test on Friday.
Math: Grade 4's are finishing up their unit on patterns and equations and will have a test on Wednesday. Grade 3's are working on decreasing patterns this week; they will have a test early next week.
Science: This week we will be exploring with reflection and shadows.
Social Studies: Students handed in their province brochure/songs today. We will continue our study of Canada by learning how to locate oceans, important bodies of water, and capital cities on a map.
Christian Education: To support our school wide chapel theme, "Christ serves us; Christ serves through us", our class has started planning some ways that we can put that into action. We plan to do several service projects throughout the year, possibly including but not limited to: visiting a senior's home, volunteering at Winnipeg Harvest, and supporting Rehimet, our Compassion Canada sponsor child.

We continue to hear of new cases of lice; please remember to check your child's hair thoroughly each day and treat if necessary. Please inform us if you find any lice or nits in your child's hair.
