We
hope you enjoyed your Father's Day weekend!
ELA:
We enjoyed journalizing about our Father's Day weekend today! Most
students are writing so much now that they need another day to complete it to
their satisfaction. We will also be finishing our Literature Circles this
week. They are going very well as the students become the team leader directing
what portion of the text the group will read and facilitating the group
discussion. There will be no more formal spelling lists. We hope the students
will use the knowledge they've acquired during the year and spell the words
correctly in other settings.
Math:
The grade 4's will be working on 3D shapes and symmetry this week. The grade
3's are continuing to improve their problem solving skills using different
strategies, and learning how to record their work and answers in an organized
way.
Social
Studies: This afternoon we had a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Kuhl (my
grandparents), who taught us about how life used to be in rural Manitoba. We
have also been talking about how life used to be for Aboriginal people and the
early explorers and fur traders in Manitoba.
*Mugs:
Most of the students wrote "hand wash only" on the bottom of the mug they
decorated, but it may also be helpful to know that scrub brushes should be
avoided. Thanks!
Hope to see you at the BBQ
on Thursday!
