Turns out, the lever may not be helpful if it is too heavy!  This leads to great discussions about how to interpret experiment results that are different than what we learn in books.

As you can see, we've been working through several experiments this week using the scientific method.  Students are learning the skills to perform scientific experiments as we learn about various simple machines.
For students that would like a challenge in science, these skills can be used to work towards a science fair project for Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) in spring.  A note was sent home yesterday about a science club (gr. 4-8) starting next week led by Dr. Albensi and Ms. Meilleur that will provide students with more specific instruction and guidance for MSSS.  Please return the form by Dec. 10 if your child would like to join.
