ELA: We have begun another set of Literacy activities with the theme of Christmas.

Our Scaredy stories were very well done overall and students are having these videoed. They worked hard and were very pleased and proud of their books.  Way to go!!!

There will be no spelling lists to learn until after Christmas.  We are using the words we learned last week in our written activities this week.

Reminder:  Encourage your child to read and record their reading nightly.  I check agendas and Reading Records every morning and collaborate their reading habits and performance in my evaluations.

Math: The grade 3's are having a test today and will work on adding and subtracting for the next few weeks.  The grade 4's will have their test tomorrow and continue with more concentrated focus on multiplication.  We've been practicing basic facts throughout the first term with short games while lining up or at the end of the day, and when I gave a 'pre-test' last week I was happy to see that most of the class is on target with their basic facts.

Social studies: We are continuing activities to remember the different levels and responsibilities in government, and are beginning to learn about our responsibilities as citizens.  This week we will also continue to focus on computer skills to enhance our learning.

Art: Students started our 'royalty' banner for chapel this past Friday and it is looking wonderful!  Make sure to come see it in the chapel for the month of December.  This week we will also be working on some Christmas crafts to give to the seniors on our field trip next Monday.
