ELA:  The students are working on a poetry unit learning to write a variety of poems in different styles.  Our new spelling list has words that pertain to this unit of study.  Just a reminder that the quiz will be on Thursday as there is no school for the students on Friday.

We have completed our "And Then it Happened" stories!  They have been compiled and our "anthology" is making the rounds to each home for a night.  Please enjoy reading these stories with your child. They have worked hard and are very proud of them! Please ensure that your child returns it the next day for the expectant child waiting for their turn.  Thanks!

Math: The grade 3's have gathered all their 'math potato' data and completed their Measurement Olympics.  We will continue learning about time this week and will have a test on Thursday on measurement (length, perimeter, weight, and time).  Grade 4's will continue with some games and mini-clock activities to practice telling time, calculating elapsed time, and understanding a 24 hour clock.  We hope to finish our measurement unit by the end of the week with a test on Thursday (area, perimeter, and time).  Both grades will be reviewing these topics on Wednesday.

Social Studies: Today we played several traditional Inuit games.  Students have been researching information on Inuit languages and natural resources using the sites on our blog.  This week we will also listen to traditional Inuit throat singing and view pictures of a northern town.

Christian Education: Students will be taking a closer look at some Bible stories by making connections to their own lives and identifying with the characters.
