ELA: The students will be participating in a poetry cafe tomorrow. They have written a variety of poems and will be presenting the poem of their choice to the class. We will all respond in a cool poetic way with "snaps' instead of claps! They have been asked to make sure they have a finished copy of their poem ready in the morning, as well as, completion of revisions and edits to their poetry booklet.
Also this week, they will be examining text forms and features characteristic to various forms. There is no spelling list this week.
Math: The grade 4's will be learning how to read a 24 hour clock this week. Towards the end of the week we will start our unit on fractions and decimals. The grade 3's will practice telling time on a clock and measuring time in days, weeks, and months using a calendar. They will also start their unit on fractions towards the end of the week.
Social Studies: This week we will be looking at maps to locate key places, compare the population, and identify physical features of the northern territories.
This week we will also be preparing our portfolios for the student led conferences next week. They will be excited to show you all their best work on March 12-13!
