ELA/Art: Most students have completed their paper mache projects and are looking forward to presenting them to the class. We will begin these on Thursday.  They have done an excellent job and realized how much work is really involved.  We are continuing the animal activites and will be completing the rough draft and editing and revising phase of our Animal Adventure stories this week.  There are no new spelling words this week.  Some students appeared not to have studied last time so they will be rewriting their spelling quiz this week. The animal creations in the style of Barbara Reid are great and students are using lots of creativity!

Math:  The grade 4's played a game today to review fractions and decimals and will have a math test tomorrow.  We will be starting to look at multiplying large numbers (up to 2 digit by 3 digit numbers) later this week.  The grade 3's have been learning to look at word problems and decide what operation to use to solve the problem.

Science:  This week students will be presenting their zoo dioramas.  Ms. Klatt's class had a tour of our 'zoo' today and students were very excited to show off their masterpieces!  We will also be playing a few games to understand how humans and natural disturbances can affect habitats.  

Christian Education: Over the last several weeks we have been memorizing a few verses.  Students are now focusing on a specific verse that they would like to teach the class.  They are explaining what the verse means and why it is important, and will organize a short activity to help the rest of the class learn the verse.  The presentations will be spread out over the next several weeks.
