ELA/Art: The students have spent the last three days working hard on a paper mache animal.  They will be using their model to present some facts they've  researched about this animal.  We will be continuing our literacy activities when the animals creations are done. There will be no new spelling words this week.  We will continue to use the thematic words of animals in our literacy.

Thank you for all the contributions toward the paper mache project and playdoh art activity. The class has really enjoyed them!

Math: The grade 4's are solidifying their knowledge of tenths and hundredths, and we will start practicing adding and subtracting decimals this week.  The grade 3's have been working on word problems and various games to solidify their multiplication and division facts.

Science:  We are starting a habitat diorama project and applying what we have learned about food chains, different animal roles, and adaptations!  Your child will require a box and various materials according to your child's plans for the habitat.  I will be providing some materials at school (some fabric, cotton balls, popsicle sticks, paint, and some miscellaneous craft supplies).  They each have a design booklet with the essential components required.  Students will be required to finish researching their habitat before working on the diorama in class.  We hope to have them done by the end of the week (or next Monday).  Thanks for your support as we've been busy with several messy projects these days!
