We look forward to seeing you tomorrow or Wednesday for our Student-led conferences.  This is a special time when your child can show you work for which they are proud.

ELA: Students have completed the rough copy of their second mystery. They are developing editing and revising skills in order to make their story clearer to the reader.

Tomorrow we are beginning to type our story on the computer.  We will work hard to complete it this week but students may need to take it home to finish.  They have begun to design a cover for their story and decide what makes a good cover of a book. Stories and covers need to be completed ready to present by MONDAY. Students will present their story by sharing the cover and highlights of their mystery with the class.

Math: Both grades are looking at keys words to help them solve multiplication and division problems and how to apply halving and doubling strategies to multiplication facts they have not memorized.  The grade 4's will also be looking at arrays later this week, and grade 5's will learn to multiply two digit numbers by multiples of 10.

Science: Students are watching short videos and helping with demonstrations to learn about the phases of the moon and both lunar and solar eclipses.  Later this week we will also compare astrology and astronomy.

Christian Education: Students will be looking at the book of Leviticus this week, and discussing why God had different types of rules for the new Israelite nation.
